Premium Refund Programs for Michigan Auto Insurance Customers

By April 19, 2020July 27th, 2021Automobile, Michigan, News
One item that we have been fielding lots of inquires about, are the refunds that insurance companies have indicated they will be returning. It’s important to note, this is the decision of each carrier. In addition, It must be approved by the regulating department and the State of Michigan. Some have indicated they will return money. Most carriers have indicated it will be between 15% and 20% of private passenger auto premiums not including the MCCA charge and only for the months of April and May.
Policy holders don’t need to do anything at this point. In fact, none of the refunds have been approved as of yet. If you are entitled to a refund or credit you will get it! We will update you as we know more through our Facebook page. All the individual companies have been updating their social media platforms as well.
Along with the refunds, carriers are extending due dates, not canceling policies, waiving late fees, and working with policy holders to help them through the challenges COVID-19 has presented. We at Harbor Brenn Insurance Agencies are using all the above and more to help. If you are challenged with a payment we can help, just reach out to us, Staff Directory. We are here to help.
