What is your position?

I am the Director of First Impressions A.K.A. Receptionist.  I also handle most of the marketing and advertising for the agency.

How long have you worked for Harbor/Brenn:

I worked for the agency for seven years as a processor and agent.  I left for three years and worked at the Petoskey Middle School as one of the school secretaries.  I returned to Harbor/Brenn about three years ago.

How long have you worked in the insurance industry?

Almost 10 years.

What is your favorite part about your position in our company?

I love talking to our customers when they call or stop in.  I also love the ability to be creative when doing the marketing, advertising and events. 

What organizations are you a part of both professionally and personally?

I am an alumnus of LLT (Class of 2012!!) Currently I am Co-Chair of the Instant Wine Cellar for United Way (with my friend and co-worker Juliet Meyer) and have been a committee member previously. I am a committee member for the YMCA color run.  I am currently participating in the Thrive Workshop.  And I am a member of Northern Michigan Autism Association. 

What do you do in your free time/ hobbies?

I am an avid reader, and I love watching movies.  I also love to run but I have been on hiatus while attending to an ankle/toe problem.  I had surgery five months ago and I am just getting clearance to start jogging again.  I am so excited.  I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and family as much as possible. 

Do you have kids, pets, family/married?

I am married to Jeremy Rakoniewski and we have been married since 2001.  We have a 17-year-old son and a 15-year-old daughter.  We also have two dogs, Lucy and Ellie; two cats, Binx and Max; 8 chickens; a gerbil and a gecko.  We have a small zoo.

What city do you live in?

I live in Petoskey and have been here since about 2000.  I grew up in Gaylord, but I am a transplant from Detroit, our family moved to Gaylord in 1981.

What is your favorite thing to do in Northern MI?

My favorite thing to do in Northern Michigan is check out all the great places to visit outdoors.  Most especially beaches.  I also LOVE volunteering in the community.

What is your favorite season in Northern Michigan?

My favorite season to relax in is Summer.  I tried to go to a beach as often as possible.  My favorite season to run in is winter.  I absolutely love running in the cold temperatures.
