I’ve been divorced for 29 years; have two grown children – A daughter and a son and daughter-in-law with a grand baby on the way, and my bestie, Buddy!  My daughter is a long time employee and Director of Resort Accommodations at Boyne Highlands; my son is Sous Chef at the Franklin in Traverse City and my daughter in law is a Sommelier, working at Stella’s in Traverse and is continuing her college education in Traverse City as well as preparing to be a mother.

What is your favorite thing to do in Northern Michigan?

My favorite thing to do on my down time is hiking with Buddy, my 11-year-old American Eskimo in areas where he can run – I also love swimming and beaching it – and of course cheering on my Green Bay Packers, it’s hard to pick just one.

What is your favorite season in Northern Michigan?

Part of my duty when I was in the Navy was being stationed three years in Hawaii at Fleet Intelligence Center Pacific.  It was beautiful there, but without the change in seasons –and I love every one of them. I love the freedom that comes with summer – just being outside and soaking up the sun or the summer rain.  I love the crispness of the air in the fall and the beautiful colors.  I love the beauty of the snow and the quietness of winter.  I love the budding and flowering of the trees and bushes and the fresh green grass of Spring.  That’s why I love it here.  I don’t have to pick one.
